چکیده
Abstract Introduction Background SUDEP is leading cause of mortality in patients with chronic refractory epilepsy. Despite several epidemiological studies, case series , monitored and witnessed the exact mechanism not proposed Objective This work was carried out to assess QT interval prolongation epilepsy whether there’s a difference between temporal non-temporal Patients methods study conducted on 100 patients, 50 aged sex matched healthy controls who underwent prolonged (6 24 hours) 22 channel computerized EEG monitor 10-20 system electrode placement 12 lead electrocardiogram (25 millisecond speed). QT, QTd QTc using Bazzet’s formulae were calculated. Results The results showed statistically significant particularly lobe Conclusion Significant (11% suffered pathological QT). Marked over non group.

متن کاملComparison of temporal lobe epilepsy with hippocampal sclerosis and temporal lobe epilepsies due to other etiologies
Background: This study compares the clinical characteristics of patients with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy with hippocampal sclerosis (mTLE-HS) with those who have temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) due to other etiologies. Methods : In this retrospective study all patients with a clinical diagnosis of TLE were recruited in a referral outpatient epilepsy clinic at Shiraz University of Medical Sc...
متن کاملEndoscopic Transsphenoidal Resection of a Medial Temporal Arachnoid Cyst in a Patient with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy
Abstract Introduction: Arachnoid cysts are developmental cystic lesions which may be found as an incidental finding on neuroimaging or present with symptoms of headache, seizure and neurologic deficit. Presentation with seizure is more common with larger sizes and temporal location. Presentation with TLE is rare, and fenestration of cysts had variable results for seizure control. Here in, we r...
متن کاملNeocortical Temporal Lobe Epilepsy
Complex partial seizures (CPSs) can present with various semiologies, while mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (mTLE) is a well-recognized cause of CPS, neocortical temporal lobe epilepsy (nTLE) albeit being less common is increasingly recognized as separate disease entity. Differentiating the two remains a challenge for epileptologists as many symptoms overlap due to reciprocal connections between ...
متن کاملTemporal Lobe Epilepsy Semiology
Epilepsy represents a multifaceted group of disorders divided into two broad categories, partial and generalized, based on the seizure onset zone. The identification of the neuroanatomic site of seizure onset depends on delineation of seizure semiology by a careful history together with video-EEG, and a variety of neuroimaging technologies such as MRI, fMRI, FDG-PET, MEG, or invasive intracrani...
